a cutthroat blog: awa odori

so every year, people in japan celebrate their ancestors for a week... they call it obon, its usually the 2nd week of august, people usually go to cemetaries and they usually have the week off. but of course i was working. anyways, every prefecture is different, soo tokushima has one of the biggest dance festivals during oban. Awa odori is a 4 day festival that surrounds downtown tokushima with dances and a lot of drunk spectators. So the festival started sunday, and my friends and I decided to start partying Friday, sounded like a great idea... we ended up partying saturday as well, we had to, my roomate, had his friends from scottland over, so we had to do something... those 2 nights were a blur...
but i do recall somethings during awa odori...
day 1
awa - tokushimas old name back in the days when it was the 3rd largest japaese city, now i think its like the 100th largest city... odori - dancing, heres the crowded areas

i had to urinate so i went this area by the river, and heres a cool picture of the lanterns and vendors

some club called underground, it was like 1500 yen to get in, but we just walked in unkowingly of course, it was hip hop night here, neil and i were freestyling, and some japanese kid came in, he didnt rip shit up, but its all good, even my man in japan knows who i am...
